Lightning Lab Management and Wellington Programme
Brett leads the Acceleration business unit at Creative HQ and oversees the Lightning Lab programme. Brett has deep experience with startups and building high growth companies. He has been a founder, COO, SVP of Product Development and CEO. Before moving to New Zealand, Brett participated as a mentor in Excelerate Labs in Chicago (now Techstars Chicago). He has been a Lightning Lab mentor since the first programme in 2013.

Stefan is the CEO of Creative HQ, a founding investor in Lightning Lab and the leading force behind bringing acceleration to New Zealand. He is a central voice in the local startup ecosystem and believes in creating New Zealand’s future economic wealth through startup-led innovation and developing entrepreneurial talent.

Laura is Creative HQ’s startup community manager and the Programme Director for the Lightning Lab XX 2016 programme. Before joining Creative HQ, Laura spent two years as Program Manager with TechStars, the flagship accelerator programme founded in Boulder, Colorado. She was also part of the founding team of the Global Accelerator Network.

Finn is the Programme Manager for Lightning Lab XX, and is passionate about finding ways to apply smart technology to make the world a better place. He’s responsible for engaging with teams, mentors, investors and stakeholders to deliver Lightning Lab and build successful companies. As an alumni of the 2014 Lightning Lab cohort, Finn has a solid grounding in the startup world, balanced by previous experience consulting on large government and corporate IT projects.

Mark is a market validation executive at The Icehouse in charge of delivering the Auckland Lightning Lab programme. He has extensive experience working with startups to test and validate business models and obtain early customers.

Jeff is the Programme Director for Lightning Lab Digital Accelerator 2016. His role is to ensure each startup has direct access to important networks and expert advice, assisting product and market validation, enabling rapid growth and culminates in the delivery of highly investable startup entities.
Jeff is a talented entrepreneur with 25 years experience owning/building businesses in – direct marketing, publishing and digital software including a successful sale/exit to a Singapore-based digital marketing group.

Pete is the Programme Manager for Lightning Lab Digital Accelerator 2016. He has a background in customer success, operations and business analysis. Before moving to New Zealand he spent his time building Pact Coffee, one of London’s most popular startups, and SPOKE, an e-commerce menswear company.

Geoff is the Programme Director of the Christchurch 2015 Lighting Lab Programme. Geoff is the founder of GBJ Innovation, working with various organisations, entrepreneurs, and startup companies to help startups succeed in New Zealand. Prior to GBJ Geoff was a co-founder of SLI Systems and held positions of CFO, VP of Marketing, and VP of Business Intelligence. Geoff holds an MBA from Massey University.
Charlie is the Programme Manager for the Christchurch programme. He has a broad background in IT, geography and engineering and moved to Christchurch in 2011 before joining powerHouse as an Investment Analyst. He is responsible for managing the teams and stakeholders as well as the day to day activities of the programme.
Jamie and his team have been responsible for bringing the Lightning Lab programme to Christchurch, and he is part of the national Lightning Lab Advisory Group. Jamie has previously held CEO, GM, Directorship, and co-founder roles in technology businesses and is now General Manager of Innovation at Canterbury Development Corporation.
