Lightning Lab Manufacturing – In The Storm
With 49 days until Demo Day, it’s now or never when it comes to customer engagement. This week we welcomed a number of very special guests into the space, and the seven ventures continue to build momentum with pre-orders and early adopter agreements. Missed our previous updates? Check out one and two, and subscribe for exclusive content.
The Growing Community
Digital strategy expert Kevin Fitzsimons (Element Digital) popped into the space this week, along with Richard Smith (Shedlight), Amanda Gilbertson (WNT Ventures) and Jim Collins (Fuji Xerox). Our very own Shawn O’Keefe held a strategy session, sharing best practices from his own startup journey. It was a pleasure to host new WREDA CEO Chris Whelan into the space, along with Stefan Korn (Creative HQ). Charlie Howe and Seby Reeves (ANZ) stopped by on Tuesday, and we are grateful to have their continued support as a programme sponsor.
Startup Of The Week: Ebee
Each week we profile a venture in Lightning Lab Manufacturing.
Ebee is the brainchild of co-founders Jessica Rolinson-Purchase, Rob Smith, and Olly Townend, who are building ecologically sound and resilient beehive frames. Their products provide the quality and ease of traditional materials, yet include many other positive elements. Jessica is an award winning industrial designer and beekeeper, Rob has a strong background in 3D modelling, concept art, marketing and communications, and Olly has a background in entrepreneurship, advanced technology enterprise and industrial design. Jess is also receiving an award at next week’s Best Awards for her home hive design (not the product included in our accelerator). Interested in helping this startup? Let us know.
