We are building an ecosystem of support and energy around start-ups and helping to bridge connections between companies and investors and others who can help.

Mentors

There are two types of Lightning Lab mentors:

Lead Mentors – these are generally locally based mentors who self-select to work with a business in more depth. Each company can expect to have between 2 and 3 lead mentors.
Fly-in mentors – A combination of local, national and international mentors. These mentors won’t get engaged as intensely as the Lead Mentors but they will be available to come in and talk to the companies individually and in group sessions. We will be flying in mentors from around New Zealand and from overseas.

Lab Techs and Interns

Lab Techs help our businesses go faster. Across all of the teams there are four Technical Techs (design/developers) and three Business Techs. There are also at least three other interns who help run the programme.

Investors

The Lightning Lab is an investment pathway. Our Founding Investors are our anchor providing the seed funding necessary to get the programme off the ground. However, there are opportunities for other investors to get involved with the programme.
